I don't remember that I gave you grief, I hope I didn't, but if I did, I apologize. Do you think the objection to breastmilk being pumped was just part of the general rebellion that we women, who were trying hard to do the right thing for our babies, natural childbirth, breast-feeding, and all occasionally with some discomfort to ourselves, would be asked to do something as unnatural as this just to spare someone else a little embarrassment?
I did use one, but I did it to avoid having to deal with even worrying about people who might be offended, so it was really for me that I did it. I worried about things like that way too much, and would be totally different now.
EEEk. I just saw Bill's post about the plane woman and found it awful- on two counts.
I have NEVER known a breastfeeding woman to go braless, mainly because of the discomfort and the heaviness that goes along with it, along with the leaking. And I have NEVER seen someone expose both breasts in front of a child in the manner he describes (and which I frankly doubt happened- I think he is indulging in some testosterone male humor, which incidentally, women find repulsive). Very few women are so militant or unaware that they would do this, and if she did, he SHOULD have excused himself and son.
But having him now turn that mother's breasts into sex objects that he could ogle is in rather appallingly poor taste. Adolescent, locker room type humor at its "finest"! |
