I am merely trying an approach that encompases a little of 2 stategies.....1)writing for the income and being content when your stock is called. 2) writing for income and protection and trying to hold your stock.

1) is pretty cut and dried 2) can get a little tricky. if you dont want your shares called, it, like you said, requires more strategy.

That is exactly why i asked for others opinion and I believe your opinion was for me to wait until near expiration when time value has eroded and go from there.

That is more the way I was elaning as welol, bit it still doesnt hurt to get others opinions...after all,as you said, many of us are all learning together. Some know more then others, but even the most astute option player I am sure can still learn something new every day.
