Fed interest rate hikes:

Jeff you're right about NO inflation. Fed is using old economics like low unemployment rates = inflation. It certainly apparent with years of evidence that it does not apply any more. I think the Fed is trying to cool the market and not the overall economy. The so-called wealth effect causing folks to spend, spend and spend. Why is wealth creation "bad"?

My opinion? I firmed believe as does Dr. Walter Williams that the Fed should be abolished and interest rates change via market conditions(supply and demand). Why should a government employee decide on how much you and I should have to pay for a mortgage for a house? Or the rate for a personal loan?

Interest rate hikes are TAX INCREASES! It?s the extra money you MUST pay to purchase most everything via a loan tied to the prime rate. So why is the Fed so concerned? I don?t know for certain, but I have a hunch that the Fed really doesn't like some many people in the market, which bothers me very much. What business is it of the government?s what WE do with our OWN money???

I could talk all day about this subject, but I will stop now.
