i'd rather not make him happy.

I'm a firm believer in the way to get wealthy is to avoid Uncle Grabby Sammy. If that's your goal with your "older" gorillas then you must realize that is a different game than the Beano game. In Beano getting called is almost irrelevant. Now to be sure some try to do both simultaneously and end up having to buy back their calls at the "last minute" when the time premium has evaporated. I've yet to try Beano, although I may this summer.

I haven't written CC on MSFT. If the DOJ suit is soon over I may start writing puts again when I believe it's undervalued. My INTC learning experience was long and painful. I made this post to V soon after joining SI.

More recently I've made CC plays on CSCO. e.g. last month I sold Mar 140's on CSCO that were profitable. Today I tried to sell some Apr 85's (when CSCO was above 81) but the MMs did not like my limit price. As you can see, I wait until I believe CSCO is way overextended and then chose an OTM front month (OTM = out of the money, front month = the next expiration month, now April) strike. I'm prepared to buy them back if necessary, and if the opportunity doesn't present itself I'm patient and wait. This is very different than Beano. But the goals are different; income (or stress reduction) is not the "raison d'etre".

Hope this helps. Just another perspective.
