Just what exactly is Audiovox' role?
I had previously thought Audiovox was a price-leading manufacturer (like Kenwood), but found out that Audiovox doesn't do manufacturing. So, lets say, Hyundai makes a phone, chanelled through Audiovox, and then gets branded as a BellAtlantic Mobile for the end user; what role does Audiovox play in this picture? How does it avoid getting cut out altogether? Is Audiovox a distributor, wholesellr, reseller, or marketting firm? Is the market classifying the firm along with BestBuy, which incidendally has similar low P/R ratio.
A second question is that, did anyone else notice that the founder/CEO owns 2/3 of the company? That must be interesting at shareholder meetings :-)
Anyway, I'm considering accumulating some Audiovox, but do have a couple nagging questions. |
