Multiple Zones Picked by Microsoft as Employee Vendor (Update2)

Renton, Washington, March 24 (Bloomberg) --
Multiple Zones International Inc., a direct marketer of personal computers, said Microsoft Corp. selected it to be the primary supplier of computer products and distribution services to Microsoft's U.S. employees.

Multiple Zones, which had sales of $487.4 million in 1999,
will sell desktop computers, software and networking equipment to the world's largest software company's 20,000 domestic employees.

The Renton, Washington-based company also will manage a
distribution facility at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington.


Multiple Zones sells computers through three Internet sites,
Zones.com, ZonesAuction and ZonesBusiness.com, and three
catalogs, ``The PC Zone,' ``The Mac Zone' and ``The Learning Zone.'

The shares of Multiple Zones rose 5 7/16, almost double, to
11 1/4 in trading of 28.4 million on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The stock was the fifth-most active on U.S. markets. Microsoft fell 3/16 to 111 11/16.
