re "What is JP Morgan talking about? Epifanio said "investor exuberance was premature..." then he issued a BUY?
Hello?"

>>Although Microsoft shares rallied this week, analysts warned that investor exuberance was premature. ``We haven't heard any official word from any side on this, so it renders any information about a settlement questionable,' said William Epifanio, an analyst at J.P. Morgan Securities with a ``buy' rating on Microsoft.<<

Jason, analysts are famous for issuing ratings after the stock has moved to anticipate news. Thus, if MSFT pops to $125 on a settlement agreement, we could see a few new "strong buys" (Epifanio among them) and a slew of "reiterate strong buys". To be fair, those "reiterates" mean that there were plenty of analysts who had that strong buy rating when MSFT was trading @ $90-95.
