Eric L: Thanks. I was beginning to wonder if no one here cared about this issue of caller pays which is simply the FCC siding with the wireline companies and against wireless.

Hey aren't we consumers here?

I can understand why Dr J has to be careful in dealing with the equivalent of his "city hall" (the FCC) which is even now despite court order delaying access for Qualcomm to the equivalent of sprectrum that it denied the Q years ago.

It is absolutely clear that raw politics and power are major factors and the wireline companies have the power and the influence.

If the wireless / internet nexus takes off, the wireline companies - the old line telcoms - baby bells and AT&T stand to lose big time on a relative basis

And it is abundantly clear who has the FCC's ear.

Caller pays is just a victim of the wireline fears.

All just as I observe from afar, and maybe I misunderstand.

Best.
