Two talks in one month and we were fortunate to have the second here in BC, in Napier's back yard. Just to provide readers with another perspective of the potential of Sergio's products and Napier, I offer the following:
De-painting ships in dry-dock offers Napier a monstrous yet only one of many market niches. Hydrostrip is at least two to four times more efficient than sand blasting, even without considering the solid residues, aerosols and environmental concerns. If just one ship yard was to stop using sandblasting (currently under serious environmental constraints) and was to switch to Napier's coatings lifter technology, this could result in a DAILY usage of 200+ barrels @ $1,000.00 (USD)! Multiply this daily cash flow of $200,000 (that?s $44,000,000.00, assuming 220 working days/year) by the number of shipyards in NA, the EEC, not to mention the rest of the world, you begin to get a feel for the BLUE SKY potential that Napier posses for all of us. I heard Sergio state after his talk at UVic that ?when NIR was at $4.88 (CAD) it was overvalued and today (March 22, 2000) it is well undervalued.?

Dr. Mike O'Donoghue, ICI Devoe Coatings, was openly enthusiastic about the marketing of Napier's products. He did not apologize for the price that is being charged (he admits that it?s expensive for the retail consumer). He knows that even at current prices, industrial job costing is not a problem.

I also learned at the dinner that preceded the talk that Norway's agent for Napier was so excited about the commercial potential for Napier's products he couldn?t sleep, he had just then realized it was so gigantic, he had to phone Sergio at 5:30 pm PST. He was wanting to expand his territory.

Sergio told us of a story about a potential "knock off" that had appeared on the market (Sweden) and how this product had worried many in the organization, but not him. He knew that the patent was no recipe. As it turned out, Saab now has four aircraft without paint that can no longer fly! Sergio also stated that he has complete control of the formulations and has taken great care to ensure that no one, not the mixing staff, not even management could duplicate his formulations. Only his assistant and he have the necessary knowledge. Of course all his recipes are well documented and secured from prying eyes.

I gained a lot of respect for Sergio and Mike after spending a total of 6 hours with them. Sergio, is a very serious scientist, and I have an enormous amount of respect for his scientific abilities and his accomplishments. It is not easy to blaze a new path, to go against conventional wisdom, yet he has done so, and he has triumphed! He has truly invented an entirely new way of removing coatings, without dissolving the paint and without harming the substrate, the environment, or the applicator. He has made products that safely and completely remove many coatings from many substrates. He is certain that his patent(s) will give Napier enormous advantages in the market place for years to come.

Another interesting comment: this one was from Mike, the ?GREEN? label has actually held back customers ? ?if it?s GREEN it can?t be any good.? This attitude changes quickly following product demonstrations.

Fellow posters, we have a winner. Sit back, enjoy the ride, it should be fun and it will be profitable, of that I am certain.
