Dennis, I really doubt that Ericsson has changed sides. Instead, their purchase of Qualcomm's infrastructure division was a cover-your-butt deal. Even they could see there were all sorts of reasons why CDMA was going to be important. Reality has a funny way of sneaking into dreams.

For a number of quite rational business reasons, their first priority must and will continue to be their home-grown technology, GSM. Even if they agree and admit that Qualcomm's flavors of CDMA are a big part of the future, GSM will continue to be Ericsson's cash cow for years. There is also the dreaded NIH syndrome (Not Invented Here.)
