I agree. As many of you know, I have had the pleasure of dealing with the management of several "shiny pebbles" recently and often the initial contact is simply a call to the general number. These are smaller companies and you can just ask for the CEO by name. His office is probably right down the hall. When they ask who you are, tell them your name and tell them the truth: that you represent a large group of investors known as the Gorilla & King group who is evaluating the company for a potentially substantial investment. Most of them know who we are. You may have to leave a number, but often you'll be put through immediately. The only thing is: YOU MUST BE PREPARED to ask specific questions and also to explain succinctly the G&K philosophy. Do not waste the CEO's time or you will be quickly dismissed, as will the rest of us. If you are courteous and prepared, you will find that most are eager for the opportunity to share their unique perspective with you and some will become downright chatty.

Again, these folks are all just people (with really cool jobs) and most are very pleasant. Don't be intimidated.

Another suggestion: You will often find that VP's of Sales, and Development will be better able to answer your questions. Nobody understands the products better than the VP of Development and you can often judge demand by the sales VP's comments and general attitude.

One question for Chaz: Why not call NT's CEO? What have you got to lose?
