hi Dave,

I don't track OEX closely (and don't trade it)... I've been meaning to rev my tools to track it, but have been preoccupied elsewhere, and I won't trade something I haven't studied for a good amount of time.

I would say that SPX options have about a 2pt spread. I usually put my limit order in to split the spread, and more than 50% of the time I will get it after a few minutes... perhaps because I don't trade a large number of contracts and perhaps because I'm good at picking just the 'wrong' time :-)

seriously, there are more times that I should just not mess w/ trying to split the spread, and just take it, that I've had it move from me quickly. I don't daytrade the SPX options (unless it meets my target that quickly ;-) so spreads really aren't that important to my style.
