I agree that if that the government will look really autocratic if they are unwilling to negotiate. There is likely to be considerable lobbying by competitors to really go after the company. I read some comments from Sunw and Oracle. You can bet these and others are being consulted informally by the states if not the DOJ. That could be the stumbling block in settlement efforts.
