Hello all: I picked up on another thread a reference to the: National Transparent Optical Network Consortium (NTONC), which includes Nortel Networks, GST Telecommunications, Sprint Communications, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). They recently tested an optical switch made by Optical Micro Machines Inc (OMM). The full story can be accessed with this link: Message 13284088 Bosco, that note about Coretek makes the selling price seem fairly reasonable (at least for this unreasonable market). On another note, CSCO and NT have made some pretty high profile purchases here. What about LU? I don't recall a long list of acquisitions in the optical arena for them. Are they relying on their in house R&D alone? This would be a bad time to fall a Quarter or two behind in the optical race IMHO. GR
