Schmidt must be one of the most traveled CEOs in the country. Instead of just picking up the phone he just hops on the jet and preaches Novell's message Face to Face (much better than picking up the phone or firing an email or whatever) to decision makers every day and he will now start doing even more of that.>>

Going forward, the requirement for every technology CEO to develop a philosophy and share it with individuals he/she is "serving" will only continue to grow.
For when you enter into this new paradigm of SERVICE you must always humbly add value while continuing to extend trust as you build trust.
I don't pretend to know what inside Eric's head, but I like to believe he's in agreement with many of these ideas.
Perhaps you and others have a much better idea.
But Eric needs to take thes next step.
He's got to get into taking time to develop and expand on a core focus and be sure to share it with others on a daily basis.
I have taken the time to continually risk sharing my ideas with the greater Novell community.
I'm doing this so that others can be part of this learning experience. For I do not claim to have the answers. I know and trust that the answers to what each of us and Novell need on a day to day basic come from totally out of the blue.
If I tried to lay claim to these ideas I should be locked up. For deep down, everyone can identify with what I'm writing about. Nobody should derive credit from laws of nature. Unfortunately, we are seeing a lot of this going on inside companies today - genetics, DNA, etc. Pretty scarey to think about, but if these companies could be take to task by a rousing chorus of individuals who will demand that a lot of this selfish stuff be rolled back.
In this New Age of Service, individuals who try to selfishly withhold, restrict, limit or label will be exposed. For all selfish agendas are political.
The Internet reached a point early this year where there was enough people who "get" the real, core message behind what's happening: truth, light, personal power, energy, etc.
Now a massive light has been switched on - almost overnight.
Politics and selfish agendas can only survive in an environment of darkness where people, physically and mentally can't "see" there way around to know what's really happening.
The power of hundreds of thousands of Thomas Paines are now loose throughout the world. There is no turning back.
Eric needs to end "The Quiet Revolution."
He needs to define an empowered personal philosophy which begins with his own experience. He needs to help individuals understand it. He needs to get into the streets of life and really begin to make a massive, massive difference in the world.
For if he isn't going to do it, I sure will.
For this is what the next phase of the REAL Internet - building "community" - will be all about.
