Infosys in joint venture with CiDRA Corp Infosys Ltd and privately-held U.S. CiDRA Corp today announced that they would work together to develop photonic products for bandwidth management on optical fibre communication networks. "The partnership will enable the rapid development, deployment and support of optical networking products for the exploding optical networking equipment market," the companies said in a statement. Infosys will create an offshore product development centre (PDC) at Bangalore to support the alliance, the statement added. "The PDC`s domain experts will manage all quality processes, including compliance with the Software Engineering Institute`s (SEI) Level 5 requirements, ensure code perfection and customization, and offer 24x7 (round-the-clock) global support and coverage," the statement said. CiDRA is "developing wavelength management photonic components, modules and sub-systems for next-generation dense wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) optical networks," the statement said.
