There are different strategies for different investors. It appears to me that taxman is a LTB&H investor who does not like the idea of paying short term capital gains taxes. I, myself, prefer this manner of investing, too (although I take many more short term gains than I would like to take).

In that respect, I am more of a buy-side options investor like taxman. That does not mean that other investment strategies do not work- Just not for me.

Jill brings up a great point when she says that we all need to agree to disagree at times. Perhaps more important than posters attacking other posters' perspectives, they should instead focus on making their case in the best manner possible, and let the readers of the thread decide for themselves which method is best-suited for their needs.

Neither you nor taxman (or even PAL) are wrong. You just have different preferences for investing. I have learned a lot from all sides, and appreciate the differing opinions.

Regards,

LoF
