Eric L: As usual you make a good case. I was reacting (over-reacting really) to the major press drumbeat and enthusiasm from Ericsson re ACeS's phone and the timing which seemed to be set up to take the wind out of G* sails.

Seemed to me to be a gratuitous insult.

And the timing seemed to me to be highly suspicious.

The failure of Ericsson to obtain timely approval from ETSI seemed to me to be particularly egregious.

And the delay in holding off the GSM G* roll out until after the ACeS announcement and fan fare seemed to me to indicate that GSM G* is not the high priority ACeS seems to be.

However, the ETSI approval has finally be obtained - today.

Ericsson might, although I have seen none, make an announcement now re GSM G*. Will watch the fan fare (or lack thereof) with interest.

Hope you are right that Ericsson is in fact a strong supporter of G*. But I am reminded of Ronald Reagan's dictum re the Soviet Union, "Trust but verify".

Given the Holy Wars of the past, that is my approach re Ericsson now. And I would expect that of some others who were wounded by Ericsson past disinformation campaigns against CDMA.

And I admit my anger made my language intemperate. I apologize for that.

Best and respect as always.
