wxdude,

I just caught this topic and had the same experience myself. Somehow, when I switched from a dial-up to an ADSL service the DNS addresses got switched back and forth between the dial-up and the ADSL services.

When using the ADSL and accessing the DNS servers of the dial-up service, I could still get around, but slowly like you are experiencing. Once I switched the settings back to my proper DNS servers, I got the old bounce back.

My reasoning is that every time you want to access a site or a site redirects you to another site/page, the request is sent to a "foreign" DNS to find out where the site or page is. When it finds out the address of the page you want it sends it back to your PC and now you can continue. This adds to the time and slows your browsing considerably.

Give this a try and let us know.DS
