I've tried drumming up interest in DISH on G&K thread before, I don't know what it is, maybe this stock is too "obvious". Also, there is a tendency for some people to dismiss all TV technology, due to taint from the "trailer trash" programming that once dominated.

There's lots of DISH discussion over on Yahoo, but it has degraded into a horrible mud-slinging contest. I may invite the serious posters over to SI for a more reasoned discussion.

Maybe we should try a gorilla analysis "project hunt" on DISH.

TV, and the internet, have helped make me a lot of money, they are great information and entertainment sources.

What is amazing is that ONE current-technology dbs satellite could probably have covered the TV needs (as of 30 or 40 years ago) of virtually all North America - Alaska, Canada, USA, N. Mexico, Caribbean. Of course we have lots more channels now, so additional satellites are required.

yep, and look at what it costs DISH to add subscribers vs the cable guys!!!
Yeah - their incremental cost is almost zero, except for subsidizing the user's dish.

DISH is now one of my biggest holdings (with JDSU), been in it for nearly 2 years, although I did a "panic" sale about a year ago and bought back in. Chart is very CSCO-ish. As Burt Reynolds said in Boogie Nights:
"I like it. I like it a lot."
