I placed a message on Bob Stanzione's voice mail this morning about the selective disclosure of the revenue shortfall to certain analysts and investors by telephone. What is particularly galling is the fact that the tipees obviously passed on the information to select clients who sold without publicly releasing the news either, which makes them also potentially liable for insider trading abuses.

The law is clear on this point: If you possess inside information, you must publicly disclose it or abstain from trading.

Both tippers and tipees are potentially liable for these abuses.
