Hi X,

I started the analysis of MLIN on the weekend. I still need to find out who else competes in the WLAN transceiver business and the size of the segment. I found Philips as a competitor so far, though the level of integration is not the same as the MLIN product.

The 900 MHZ spread spectrum phone chip is interesting, but is in a really competitive consumer segment. Margins will constantly be under pressure. I do not see this are a explosive profit generator, though it may add a big slice to revenue.

If you look at the pricing for the new products and look at the total revenue for the company for last year (about 46 million), we are only talking about 8 million parts. Given the shortage of Fab facility, one has to be concerned about their ability to deliver exponentially higher number of parts, if WLAN takes off. MLIN is a fabless manufacturer.
Keep in mind a company like V-Tech, who dominates the 900 MHz wireless telephone market lands 50,000 phone in the US every month alone.
