About.com Buys Sombasa Media Inc. For 400,000 Shares

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- About.com Inc. (BOUT) acquired privately held
Sombasa Media Inc., a Boston-based online marketing company.
Under terms, current Sombasa Media shareholders will get about 400,000
unregistered About.com common shares, and About.com will assume
Sombasa's option plan.
In a press release Monday, About.com said Sombasa will continue to
market its BargainDog brand of discount offers and will create new
targeted newsletters.
Shares of About.com, which operates a network of Web sites, closed at
88 7/16, up 1/16 or 0.1%, on Nasdaq volume of 102,900 shares, compared
with average daily volume of 256,200.
