Do not forget this when going to HANA do not turn around on the road where it says no car rentals beyond this point keep going all the way around...its faster and more interesting.......whne you get past the lowsection and toward the west side up high there are some connecting roads down to Kihae and then back to Lahainna...when I was there you had to take dirt roads through cane fields to get there but now they are probably paved......since it is a long ride back to Lahainna I recommend this.......go all the way around like I just said but then take the high road to Makawoo have dinner and then go up to Kula Lodge and stay there and do your crrater trip on friday morning. Also in Hana the way to red sand beach is a bit tricky...its on the other side ofthe mountain to right of hana beach...afterseeing beach in hana which is nothing special get back in car and go to south edge of town and park by little market...get a drink then walk across the stret hop fence and walk down toward the edge of mountain...eventually you will see the path...be sure to stop by the littlecemetary it is really cool
