March 15, 2000 AMES short interest reduced from 3.7 million to 2.9 million shares. This supports the current trend of our technical analysis.

In February, the trading data showed substantial jockeying of market maker positions. Herzog, Bank of America and Knight lead. Salomon, Smith Barney, Lehman, and Jefferies, the former leaders all trail badly. Their customers all sold out. The trend of these market makers bit the dust. Herzog appears to be steady for now. But Quote.com streaming data shows the ask offer limited to 2 round lots but bid offer is 50 round lots. Somebody is trying hard to buy back their short interests on line.

This market making is interesting, but so far so good. Watch out for any sudden change of events. Watch the March trading data which is not out yet on Nasdaq site, then April 15 data is not that far away. So far, the trending is on the Herzog market making desk's behavior.
