Heinz: Man, do we agree. All those computers in the big fund offices that used to be aimed at company/industry fundamentals are now used to track short positions and stock momentum. (ng) It is for this reason that I have eschewed shorts (except mortally wounded types) and prefer D-O-O-T-M puts, which allow one to retain exposure to the more outrageously valued tulips as a form of inexpensive market insurance. I also agree with your "index juicing" comment re. the heavily cap weighted darlings. They didn't make those changes to the Dow earlier this year for nothing. (g) Good comments.
