Shula, SeaView To Meet Friday, CEO Says...
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- CEO Rich McBride of SeaView
Video Technology issued the following statement early today:
"We get many calls, inquiring about what's going on. It is my belief that
weekly announcements and communications are essential to the success of a
public company. I understand everyone's desire to have it all happen right
now. Please keep in mind we work full time to do exactly that -- to make
things happen, but it does take time.
"SeaView has enjoyed tremendous growth and fantastic success in product
innovation. I try to bring the events to you from a management perspective,
in real time as they progress...sometimes within the same day. I must stay
within guidelines, and release information publicly, yet I feel the same
anxiety as most of you do. There are so many great people out there, who have
chosen to share in a part of this company. So I will occasionally talk to all
of you, directly, via this forum.
"With so much going on last week, let me update you on some key areas.
"The presentation to Logis-Tech, our government representatives, went
flawlessly. We demonstrated our ability to control the SecureView cameras in
an off-site facility, using access from inside our facility; it was quite
impressive. Of course, simplicity was the key: screw in the light bulbs, plug
in the CPU, and the building was covered.
"Don Shula's involvement is also a big topic. I will be meeting with Don
and Mary Ann this Friday, and we hope to finalize an agreement. The Coach, as
his agent refers to him, does not do many endorsements. In fact, to my
knowledge, he has only worked with Ford Motor Company.
"The current quarter is shaping up to be a new record. Our dealer concept
is now generating sales averaging $12,000 a day for the Marine Division. I'm
estimating first quarter will close just above $500,000 dollars -- almost 85%
of last year's total.
"We were contacted by Nature Vision Inc., manufacturer of the Aqua-Vu
underwater camera. Their focus, and success, has been with the freshwater
lake angler. They are an acquisition target for SeaView this year, and
negotiations are in the very preliminary stages. Obviously, the combined
company would be a powerhouse. We've always had good, cordial relations, and
it is my hope we can expand together as a unit, rather than compete.
"And finally, major retailers are of course interested in our products.
The meeting with Home Depot has been rescheduled, at my request. We want to
do things right, and not rush our people. I can tell you from experience that
mass marketing will follow, and that this area is not a major concern at this
stage."
