03/28 8:53A (DJ) +DJ Dia Met Minerals Names Peter Atkinson Interim Chairman Dia Met/Chairman -2: Effective Immediately >DMMA KELOWNA, B.C. (Dow Jones)--Dia Met Minerals Ltd. (DMMA) said it has named Peter Atkinson non-executive interim chairman, succeeding Charles Fipke, who resigned as chairman. In a news release, the company said Fipke, Dia Met's founder, will continue as a director and has been named honorary chairman. The changes are effective immediately. Dia Met said it plans to make further changes to its board "so that it can better represent the broad range of shareholder interests" in the company and to "more effectively address the many exciting opportunities that are before us." It didn't elaborate. As reported, Charles Fipke transferred nearly all of his shares of Dia Met to his estranged wife Marlene Fipke as part of a divorce settlement.
