Edwards & Company (Nasdaq: JDEC), today announced the schedule of executive speakers who will join keynote presenter Bill Gates at FOCUS 2000, the company's annual user conference. Sponsored by Quest, the independent users group for J.D. Edwards' customers, the conference will be held at the Colorado Convention Center on June 19 - 22, 2000. This year's theme, "Emerge" invites attendees to learn about ways to rise above competitors and successfully leverage technology in business processes.
FOCUS 2000 brings together business and technology leaders from a variety of industries to address the future of business as companies move into the New Economy. The all-star line up will be led by J.D. Edwards' President and Chief Executive Officer, Doug Massingill; Chief Operating Officer, Dave Girard; and Senior Vice President B2B E-Commerce, Michael Schmitt.
Keynote Presentations, Executive Speakers
Microsoft Founder and Chief Software Architect, Bill Gates, the featured keynote speaker, will address the conference the afternoon of Tuesday, June 20. Other noted speakers include:
-- Chuck Martin -- known as an Internet trendsetter, a trail-blazing
e-commerce businessman and author of "The Digital Estate" and "Net
Future: The 7 Cyber Trends That Will Drive Your Business, Create New
Wealth and Define Your Future." Martin talks about why organizations
need to emerge into e-commerce. In his presentation Wednesday,
June 21, Martin will focus on virtual thinking on a global basis,
customer empowerment and the merger of content and technology.
-- Lou Holtz -- head football coach of the University of South Carolina
Gamecocks, presents on Thursday, June 22. His illustrious career
includes top coaching positions at Notre Dame, University of Minnesota,
University of Arkansas, North Carolina State, and William and Mary, as
well as the New York Jets. Holtz's great ability to communicate,
motivate and teach young people has made him one of the greatest sports
personalities of all time. Holtz's philosophy is that reaching for
goals and chasing dreams and ideas encourage an individual to be a
participant in life.
FOCUS 2000's Executive Track will offer attendees access to thought leaders from industry, government and academia, who will share their insights on the challenges facing traditional organizations and dot.com start-ups. Presenters include:
