I found the latest issue of Business Week to be particularly bearish. From the cover article on the "Wall Street Hype Machine" to the economic analysis update to the book review section the message seemed to be clear that the prime mover in the stock markets is now investor euphoria. The consensus seems to be that the Fed is really going to put the screws on short term rates until the markets cry uncle and / or joe and jane consumer slows spending.

I'm getting the feeling that once a critical mass of "professionals" are on board that this is a bubble then the bottom can fall out.

I do agree that the SEC doing its job and calling on dot com companies to clean up their financials will have an impact but probably only in the sense of finishing the job of killing off the second tier players.

Of course I imagine this presents just another reason to buy the dip!
