Blue Wave Systems and Performance Technologies Team to Provide Telecom Subsystems
--New ComStruct(TM) Partner Provides Integrated Line Interface Solution for OEMs--
CARROLLTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2000-- Blue Wave Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BWSI), a leading supplier of DSP subsystems for telecom applications, has announced Performance Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTIX), a supplier of embedded telecom connectivity products, as its latest ComStruct partner. Blue Wave and PTI will collaborate to provide best in class solutions targeted at Voice over Packet, Voice/Data Processing and Wireless applications. The ComStruct line of building blocks enables a high density DSP subsystem to be rapidly deployed in a range of carrier class applications.

The collaboration will begin with the integration of PTI's CPC380 Quad T1/E1 access interface product and Blue Wave's ComStruct CPCI/C6400 DSP resource board to provide a complete solution for high density DSP processing with complementary line termination. Blue Wave and PTI will announce further product developments targeted at embedded communication applications during 2000.

"Best-in-class partnerships are an important part of our ComStruct strategy, and in PTI's product line we recognized a synergy with our DSP subsystems roadmap. As a result of our integrated products, infrastructure developers will benefit from closely coupled processing and interfacing solutions," said Kevin Parlsow, executive vice president at Blue Wave Systems.

Donald Turrell, president and CEO of Performance Technologies added, "Time-to-market pressures are increasing for developers of next generation networks, and our combined efforts will result in solutions that will speed the design and integration cycles, thereby reducing development risk. We look forward to working with Blue Wave to develop new opportunities in the voice over network and wireless communications marketplaces."

Future product integration efforts between Blue Wave and PTI will provide an expanding range of integrated, high density OEM product subsystems.
