I would not qualify myself as a value investor. I.e.
I don't buy commodity businesses, not counting REITs.
I just don't like commodities. ;-) (REITs are
different - 12-20% yield in IRA is not bad). I don't do
solid numerical DD to be convinced that a commodity
business is a buy and a hold through fluctuations.
I don't have a problem holding companies like
MAT, even though Mike Burry ran away from it, and
it *did* deteriorate a bit after my purchase, but
I would be running out of EBSC by now.
That's my character.

So what do I buy? My 401(k) is in insane growth
(IGRYX and company stock). My stock portfolio is
Buffett'y (BRK, ECIL, FDC, LHO, MAT, SGP, TSG).
My gambling is satisfied with one-two options positions.
For the "value" part of my portfolio I hold TAVFX.
Marty is good at buying cigar butts and even
persuading managements to get them sold in used
cigar stores. ;-) If I went with total "value"
approach, I would buy TAVFX and Tweedy Browne, and
forget about doing it myself. But I have fun
investing - and *not* superior return. ;-) :-(((

So probably I should post only in Buffetology thread
which is closer to my liking. However, some of my
stocks and potential buys are discussed here, so
I post here too.

Cheers

Jurgis
