<< You're right, 810 and 815 will be the low-end and mid-range chipsets. 815 should be the replacement for both the 440BX and 810, since 815 will have PC133 support, integrated graphics, plus an external AGP port. >>

I'm not trying to pick a fight here, as you're one of the people on this thread I respect most, and I'm curious about your opinion on the 815.

So I have a series of questions about it.

First of all, we've all seen the tomshardware benchmarks showing the overclocked bx board faster than the 820.

1) Do you take away the validity of these benchmarks? (I realize Tom "I own AMD and nvidia stock" Pabst isn't known for objectivity)

2) Do you expect the 815 to outperform Tom's overclocked BX solution? (I would expect it would)

3) If the 815 does out perform the BX (and therefor the 820) wouldn't this also replace the 820 chipset? (since rambus is so expensive and hard to find in decent speed grades)

4) If it does become the high end consumer chipset, do you think they'll make a revision of it that doesn't have integrated graphics? (since no high end and most mid end won't want it)

It just seems to me like the 815 was originally planned for low end, and it's now going to have to serve as the mid/high end chip as well. Not a tragic problem by any stretch, but I'm curious if you think they'll be persuing a DDR chipset for the willamete? (contrary to announcments that it will only use rambus)
