Sabrejet, I can lose or make that in one day on CPQ. rudedog, Michael, El and a number of others are riding positions that make mine look small. I have been on other threads when the stock dropped. We are very civil by comparison.
We have been through Dell wars, slamming analysts, Greenspan, the shorts who almost took over the thread, and various other points of frustration. After all was said and done. Dell made money. The analysts were correct. Greenspan is doing the right thing for the economy. The shorts made big bucks from the high 40s to the low 20s.
Bottom line, we have learned that the company performance combined with economic conditions determine the price of CPQ. We think CPQ will greatly improve their performance or we would be gone. Let's face it the dividends aren't keeping us here. Although it is nice to have a little money to play golf.
Now with all that said, human emotions are still involved in this process. Experience has taught us that Compaq is the target of any celebration or frustration. Not the analyst, the economy, or the shorts. Compaq is the root of all that is good and evil in the CPQ stock price. So we slam it and praise it. Sometimes on the same day.
So welcome to the big leagues. You can't hit a home run if the fast balls scare you. NW |
