Former ABC Television Network President Fili-Krushel to Join Healtheon/WebMD Broadcast Industry Veteran Named President and CEO of WebMD Health, The Consumer Division of Healtheon/WebMD

ATLANTA, Mar 28, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Healtheon/WebMD Corporation (Nasdaq: HLTH), the first end-to-end Internet healthcare company connecting physicians and consumers to the entire healthcare industry, today announced that Patricia Fili-Krushel has been named president and CEO of WebMD Health, Healtheon/WebMD's consumer division. Fili-Krushel, who today resigned her post as president of ABC Television Network, a division of The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS), brings a wealth of operational and managerial experience to Healtheon/WebMD, including the proven ability to execute against a strategic vision. During her tenure, she brought ABC from third to first place, and has a track record of delivering market leadership and financial performance that will maximize Healtheon/WebMD's partnerships and alliances.

Fili-Krushel's appointment at Healtheon/WebMD is effective April 10 and she will report directly to CEO Jeff Arnold. Her primary responsibilities include setting the strategic direction for and the oversight of Healtheon/WebMD consumer offerings and programming, including its online consumer portal WebMD Health, The Health Network, and other joint initiatives with various News Corp. media properties. As a member of the Healtheon/WebMD management team, Fili-Krushel will hold fiscal responsibilities to maximize the value of Healtheon/WebMD's media portfolio.

Most recently, Fili-Krushel was president of Walt Disney Co.'s ABC TV network, where her responsibilities included oversight of ABC News, ABC Entertainment Television Group, and ABC Daytime, broadcast operations, marketing, engineering, television network sales, and affiliate relations.

Prior to being named president of the ABC Television Network, Fili-Krushel served as president of ABC Daytime and was instrumental with making the network No. 1 in the women-under-50 demographic and is credited with the successful launch of the talk show, "The View." Her career also includes posts as group vice president and senior vice president of programming of Lifetime Television, part of the Hearst/ABC-Viacom Entertainment Services, and she currently is a member of the board of directors. In addition, she is a member of the National Task Force on Teen Pregnancy Prevention. She also held several executive management and director-level positions at Home Box Office, Inc.
