El-- <<"Recall how 3COM popped bigtime after the PALM IPO? We could (and IMO, will DEFINITELY) see
some major movement in CPQ leading up to, and through the AltaVista IPO.">>
I recall very well how COMS acted before and during the IPO of PALM. First,, those that held COMS wish they had sold prior to the IPO or at the latest the early hours of the IPO. The day prior saw an interday high of 121 and it was down hill after that (I bailed at 109 - 106 after holding 11 months from 25 1/2) ,,, 80 looks far away now after hitting 55. Second-- PALM was owned 100% by COMS while CPQ only owns about 17% of AV if memory serves. The BIGGEST item is 6 months after the IPO the remaining 80% of PALM shares will be given to COMS shareholders as a dividend,,, CPQ shareholders will get our pennies again,,, Not a good comparison...
