Dan just called-- he's still at the airprt office. The business dinner's flight is late (gee-wonder why). He was making sure we were all right.
It hit our old neighborhood in Dallas it looks like, though those reports are just starting to come in. Downtown FW really got it. The Tandy building is a mess; it demolished a 7-11. They're telling people to stay away as large shards of glass are still falling out of the blown out windows of the skyscrapers. It blew over an 18 wheeler on the highway. ANd now they're showing flooding in Dallas- a lot of people trapped in the water in their cars. the hospitals are getting people in now. It's moving into Red Oak- I have a dear friend there.
My god. This is really incredible.
NOW they are moving people out of some neighborhoods because of gas leakages.
I have the small TV moved into the study with me--- they just announced there are more storms building up west of us.
This is probably really boring to read - I wish I could give the feel of hearing all this as it happens. The sirens and the sudden blackness, turning the TV on and hearing them say Tarrant County has a funnel cloud sighted and a large rotating area and to get to safety.
A few minutes ago I let the cats out and walked out on oiur deck- the rain has stopped and when I looked up, I could see stars. It reminded me of a naughty child, eyes wide, broken vase at his feet, and that Who ME? look on his face.
