Looking forward to the next Power Report, rumored to be coming in April. Expect some discussion of AMSC's high temperature superconducting wire applications. As the HTS wire has a smaller diameter than existing copper and carries much more current, I wonder if the existing conduits could be used for multiple purposes, e.g., co-location of HTS and optical fiber. Maybe the fiber companies would pay for the HTS installation to avoid having to rip up all the streets and to gain a time to market advantage over wireless radio and optical high bandwidth delivery systems. ???
