The world is now becoming aware that Athlon is a serious threat to INTC. When Computer Gaming World compared two Alienware computers, one Athlon and one PIII the world appeared to start slowing. Finally after months of comparisons, Athlon prevailed. They started by comparing stability and the two tied. Next they compared speed and found PIII slightly faster but close. The third area compared was price vs performance and according to Computer Gaming the Athlon "was on top with a TKO." Source AOL msg board.
