SEOUL, Mar 23, 2000 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) -- Yonhap News Agency, Korea's sole wire service, will advance into the wireless Internet business. Yonhap exchanged a memorandum of understanding with NeoPoint of the United States Thursday to jointly advance into the business. Yonhap will supply real-time news for wireless Internet users and advance into various information supply businesses using wireless Internet in the future. Yonhap and NeoPoint will launch test service for mobile phone subscribers at the end of April and commercial service in the latter half of this year. NeoPoint, founded in 1997 by ethnic Korean William Son, recently applied for listing on the Nasdaq. The U.S. company is operating the wireless Internet portal site myAladdin.com.
