chic, about the lack of support from OEM's for Intel's 550-600 MHz Celerons. Have you noticed how many PeeWeeIII 550's and 600's are on the shelves compared to the higher speed grades?

How would a retailer ever get rid of these machines costing $1000 to $1200 if there were a Celeron 600 sitting next to it selling for $200 less? Let alone a K6-2-550 for $500 less.

They wouldn't. Therefore the retailers have to wait until their Pentium III 550's and 600's sell off.

It could also be true that these Celeron 550-600's are only offered in the FCPGA package. THere just aren't enough FCPGA motherboards to go around.
