Ken,

To answer your questions:

I only watch the market at the close, usually the last 15 minutes. Occasionally I can take a glimpse during the day, but not at regular times. Most of the trades listed were made near the close, though a few were during the day. I keep two windows open to Datek with orders put in (all but the password), in addition to IQ Charts, and if I see a signal has formed I can get an order in in about 20 secs.

This system can work by only checking the first and last half hours, but one will miss a few signals that way. Getting in before an opening gap is crucial here, when one is only looking for a point or two.

I also have a partner who watches the market all day, and he has called me on occasion to alert me to a possible signal.

For streaming quotes, I use Datek's free service. When it works it really works well.

I'll look into freerealtime.com. What I'd love to see is free RT charts.

TC.
