I did read that one of the broadband subcontractors like Covad or Northpoint has found away around lower speeds with DSL the farther one gets from your neighborhood telephone "central office". Supposedly I shouldn't be able to get DSL at my office since I'm more than 3 miles from the central office, but I get speeds from 400-800K. But I did read that they will get around these lower speeds by building little "central offices" for their DSL lines closer to their customers and then routing it into the phone company with a T-1 line.

I don't know if TLCT used this technology with me. But speeds of 400-800 K works just fine.
