No Walter, my tongue was where it belongs. No one has stated that the MicroOS will become obsolete in 5 - 6 years, what was stated to me by someone in the industry is that new forms of memory are being developed to replace flash and that it was his opinion that flash memory in its present form would be here for 5-6 years. It was only his opinion. It was also stated to me that it was his opinion that companies would not try and write another OS to circumvent the MicroOS because of this. It would not be worth their time or effort to work around the patents. It looks to me as though we have a chance of gaining a big foothold in flash based portable devices that will proliferate over the next 5-6 years. Devices using flash will still need to have their files managed, so I expect the MicroOS to be around for a while.

Cheers.
