Ah, yes. A GST "I Told You So" day.

to clear the market. Maybe something more like being dragged into an alley and having your teeth removed by a boot -- i.e. margin calls and a really scary drop.>

Even without the margin calls, your scenario should do it. (I would imagine anyone dense enough to still be on margin is flat on his back already.)
