Here's why AMD is a screaming buy. Take a look at the table
from the article posted by Gopher:
dailynews.yahoo.com

COMPANY SYM EPSest date PRICE annualized PE
Altera ALTR $0.34 April 12 84.8 62
Atmel ATML $0.17 April 20 50.4 74
Conexant CNXT $0.19 April 19 72.4 95
Cypress CY $0.33 April 18 45.0 34
Intel INTC $0.69 April 18 131.9 48
LSI Logic LSI $0.25 April 25 72.0 72
PMC Sierra PMCS $0.16 April 13 190.1 297
Texas Inst TXN $0.53 April 18 170.8 81
Vitesse VTSS $0.15 April 17 102.5 171
Xilinx XLNX $0.21 April 20 80.4 96
Average $0.30 100.0 83

ADV MICRO AMD $0.44 April 12 54.7 31

Even if AMD just hit its consensus estimate of 0.44,
its PE would be the lowest of the entire group and less
than half the median of the group.

Actually, AMD will probably have the highest earnings per
share of this entire group, despite the fact that its share
price is 1/4 to 1/2 that of INTC and TXN, the only companies
with a chance to beat its EPS.
