I can't bring myself to sue another entity when I know it is really my own fault, but I'm not sure I could keep from snagging a share of a large settlement pie should the opportunity avail itself.

I did quit for a period of about a month back in '80. On the road to recovery and then started hanging out with people that smoked. Didn't take long til I was back in it.

I do, however, find it odd the government finds itself in bed with the tobacco companies for years and then low and behold brings a lawsuit against them to recover the costs to medicare and or medicaid caused by smoker's illnesses. I'm thinking collusion until it served their purposes to turn them out to the wolves.

Since it is my impression that the government won or settled for the benefit of medicare, I'm entitled to health care via all the taxes I've paid on cigarettes and those I'll continue to pay in the future.
