It's mixed news, as I see it. The bad news is that it will take one if not 2 or more quarters until USON makes an honest 20 cents earnings for the quarter. This is my magic number for proving the company is back on its growth track. Drug costs are way up and are hurting the bottom line, but given USONïs virtual monopoly position plus some loosening of the regs by insurers and the government regarding costs, USON should be able to pass the costs along to its customers sometime soon. The good news is that a couple of directors have aggressively bought the stock in the high 4 dollar range plus the company is buying back some stock. This wonït drive the stock to $25 any time soon, but it will make for good swing trades and probably set a floor under the stock between $5.00 and $6.00 in the near future. My take on buybacks is that the company will not aggressively buy the stock back and drive the price up, but will simply clean up the excess supply on dips. This effectively creates a slowly rising support level, that sometimes precipitates panic buying. I now have 8000 shares and plan to hold 6000 and sell 2000 above $6 or $7 and buy them back again lower. If I can get liquid on some of my semiconductor stock today Iïll try to pick up more uson at $4.50. At this price one can easily expect a quick 10% or short term 25 to 50%.
