The Cyber-Witch-Hunter or Character Assassination 101
Supposedly, we live in a time where blaming and pointing fingers on innuendo and insinuation, like the witch-hunter in our past, does not exist. However, the ideas behind witch-hunting can be found and the effects of this atrocity are surfacing again in our modern day Cyber-World. Is it important to remember the past so that we can prevent it and similar actions from happening again? But is there really any stopping it?
Cyber-Witch-Hunters are basically the self-righteous that have been scorned, dissed or flat out looking for a convenient cyber-scrapegoat. By the use of a computer keyboard, Cyber-Witch-Hunters enjoy a special sort of political freedom. Martyrs that are out to gain recognition to their specific agendas where most are no more than vendettas and personal vengeance against a particular targeted cyber-personality. However, Cyber-Witch-Hunters managed to stay independent in their own affairs, without anyone to control them. Hiding under the infamous freedom of speech and concealed identities, their blatant attacks are basically a type of self-government.
In the 5 centuries (1300 ? 1800) of documented witch-hunting, a woman was forced to do as commanded unquestionably for fearing if she scorned the wrong emotionally unstable person, the likelihood of being accused a witch was inevitable. Fabrications, convenient logic, innuendo and insinuation were the facts and death the penalty. Nearly entire towns of women were put to there death by ?witch-hunting facts.?
The modern day Cyber-Witch-hunter, a emotional poster, is scorned, the personality responsible for this contemptible crime is then labeled a witch (pump and dumper, paid promoter, etc.) and heretic, thus a rally begins to encourage all true morally self-righteous to join in the Cyber-Smear against this horrible individual. A keyboard becomes their sword, emotional commitment for revenge their motivation and personal creativity their truth.
One of the key elements of modern day cyber-witch-hunter is the fact it is easier to fabricate through innuendo and insinuation facts while hiding behind a secret cyber-cloak so you never have to stand accountable. Thus they attempt to organize others to make false accusations of wrongdoing against these selected cyber-targets. It does not matter whether or not the others know this supposed cyber-witch, or if the accusations had any basis in reality.
However, the Cyber-Witch-Hunters have it all figured out in their portrayals of catch22 cyber-smears. They assume no responsibility for the cyber-smear tactics, persecutions or ?witch-hunting-facts? except they are justified. Sort of sound like in the past when it was believed that if a man became aroused while torturing or persecuting a witch, that this desire was projected on to them by the woman, thus releasing the men from any responsiblity.
Using words fairness, moral, and touting their rights conjures up the dark side of any cult. Does the following excerpt look familiar in a cyber-post by a Cyber-Witch-Hunter ? Presently [a householder] cryeth out of some poor innocent neighbour that he or she hath bewitched him. For, saith he, such an old man or woman came lately to my door and desired some relief, and I denied it, and God forgive me, my heart did rise against her...and presently my child, my wife, myself, my horse, my cow, my sheep, my sow, my hog, my dog, my cat, or somewhat, was thus and thus handled in such a strange manner, as I dare swear she is a witch, or else how should these things be? - a contemporary writer, Thomas Ady (The Dark Side of Christianity)
Beware Cyber-Witch-Hunters for theirs is nothing more than a forum for transferring the guilt because it is easier to accuse others of wrong-doing than to face their own shame or accept responsibility. There are numerous reasons for Cyber-Witch-Hunting but will there be a time when Witch-Hunting will be held accountable? Never know? Gary
