Buck, thanks for the Shark-Symmetrix comparison.

IBM has pushed out delivery of their Fibre Channel interface about six months, too. So there are now three key areas where IBM has not met EMC's feature set - Fibre Channel, remote copy, and cache size. All of those features are critical to enterprise storage buyers. No wonder it's $100K less.

So, without Fibre Channel, do they tell their non-mainframe customers to use SCSI until FC is available? I understand that mainframe customers will be OK with ESCON, but it's ridiculous for everyone else to be told to buy without Fibre Channel. Can you even do SANs with the big non-mainframe servers without Fibre Channel?

Tony
